North District investigators compiled evidence against three suspects who were caught red-handed while in possession of arson weapons.
The three suspects: Muhammad Haiv 31, Hossein Haiv 21 and Mohammad Haiv 19, residents of Tuba Zangaria were captured on the way to another arson incident.
After the arrest of the three, eight more suspects were arrested for involvement in the arsons.
A search of the vehicle in which the suspects were caught found an "arson kit" that included: flammable material, ready-made torches, observation and hacking tools, flashlights, fake identification plates, gloves and a change of clothes.

The identification plate found in the vehicle, and additional evidence taken from another suspect's vehicle that was seized after a chase following an arson committed by the three in the settlement of Gush Halab, allowed police investigators to link the suspects to other arson incidents in the northern area.
According to the suspicion, the three were acting on behalf of a criminal organization that extorts sponsorship fees from businesses in the north under the guise of guarding activities.
Commander of the North District, Superintendent Shimon Lavi: "We are working with all our strength and with all the tools at our disposal against the phenomenon of the collection of sponsorship fees, the "Protection", from the apprehension of the perpetrators, as in this case, to economic crime activity against their senders - the heads of the crime organizations. We have raised the need to make a change in the legislation in order to Allow us additional tools to act against the phenomenon."
