Düsseldorf: Again knife attacks in the old town - perpetrators still at large

The police are showing more presence in Düsseldorf's old town.
Nevertheless, brutal attacks (symbol image) keep coming.

Dusseldorf: On the night of Sunday, two people in the old town were injured by stab wounds.
The perpetrators were able to escape undetected.
Dusseldorf – Two injuries after stab wounds are the balance after last weekend in the old town of Dusseldorf.
Luckily, the victims are not in danger.

These are just the latest incidents after a series of knife attacks over the past ten months.
Dusseldorf: dispute and stitches on the castle bank in the old town
The first incident over the weekend happened around 1:20 a.m. on the banks of the castle, reports 24RHEIN.
A 29-year-old man was injured in the back with a knife.
Before that, the man and his companions are said to have clashed with another group.
One person from this group is said to have threatened with a knife during the argument and demanded that a jukebox be handed over.
The 29-year-old and his companions then fled.
But the man noticed a short time later an injury on his back.
Apparently, one of the attackers had nevertheless hit him with a knife.
He went to the police and was then taken to the hospital, where the stab wound was treated.
Düsseldorf-Altstadt: After a knife attack on the Schlossufer - descriptions of the perpetrators
Descriptions are available for two alleged perpetrators:
Suspect 1: about 17 years old, about 1.65 meters tall, slim build, dark curly hair (sides shaved), dressed in light blue jeans, white sweater, beige leather jacket
Suspect 2: about 25 years old, about 1.65 meters tall, slim build, "crooked" teeth, small tattoo on the left hand, dressed in dark clothes
Düsseldorf-Altstadt: knife wounds on Mannesmannufer - perpetrators on the run
The second knife attack took place on the same night on Mannesmannufer in Düsseldorf.
There, a fight broke out between two men and a group of five.
A 19-year-old man suffered multiple stab wounds.
His 18-year-old companion sustained a head injury.
Both of them were then taken to the hospital.
"Danger to life could be ruled out there by the treating doctors," the police said.
The perpetrators were able to escape despite an immediate search by the police.
In this case, there are no descriptions.

Since October 2021 there have been several brutal attacks in Düsseldorf's old town:
After a mass brawl
on Burgplatz on October 16, 2021, a 19-year-old man died.
He was attacked with a broken glass bottle and bled to death.
Just about a week later
there was a knife attack in the old town.
A youth from the Ruhr area was seriously injured and was at times in mortal danger.
On November 26, 2021
, a 20-year-old man was injured at Grabbeplatz in Düsseldorf.
He was also attacked with a knife.
An 18-year-old was arrested.
The city of Düsseldorf
reacted to the escalation and made the old town a no-gun zone from December 21st.
Still, there were other incidents.
At carnival 2022
, three men were stabbed by a 17-year-old.
After a public manhunt with photos, the attacker had turned himself in.
On July 10, 2022
, a 25-year-old man was stabbed to death in a club on Bolkerstrasse after an argument.
He was in mortal danger at the time.
