A number of Daraa governorate workers considered that what distinguishes the local administration council elections is the modern law issued by Legislative Decree No. 107 of 2011 and the judicial supervision of the entire electoral process.

SANA polled the views of some workers, where the head of the Labor Union in Daraa, Ghaleb Al-Jawabra, said that workers are an essential element in the local administration councils, and they have an active role in those councils.

He added that Daraa workers have proven in the past years that they are able to rehabilitate the damaged facilities with their national expertise. To support this trend, union offices and union committees were invited to participate in the nomination and election process, because the citizen's vote is the main pillar in building Syria.

Head of the Working Women’s Committee in the Workers’ Union, Yamama al-Rabadawi, indicated that women have proven their ability to manage many sites and were a real partner in society alongside men in work and production, in addition to their role in raising and nurturing generations, so they must stand by and support them to be a member of boards Locality because it is the closest to the social issue because it is the cornerstone in building the nation and the human being.

Vice-President of the Workers' Union, Sahar al-Najjar, pointed out that the local council elections are a true expression of democracy to choose efficient elements capable of managing the next phase, stressing the importance of responding to the reform process announced by the Syrian state.

The head of the Electricity and Communications Workers Union, Ziad Arar, pointed out the importance of increasing participation in the nominations, unlike the previous elections, which were marred by reluctance due to the events that were passing through the governorate in particular.

The head of the Syndicate of Printing and Media Workers, Khaled Kartali, explained that this process meets the demands of the Syrian citizen for his desired democratic rights, pointing to the need to elect members of the provincial council and the councils of cities, towns and countries who can communicate with the citizen and meet his living needs better.

Head of the State and Municipalities Workers Union, Abeer Hussein, pointed out that the local administration law is a modern law, and what distinguishes it is judicial supervision over the entire electoral process, pointing to the strengthening of the role of women and the expansion of their participation in the upcoming entitlement by applying for candidacy or participating in elections.

The Judicial Subcommittee in Daraa took all measures to make the elections a success and to ensure their smooth running.

Daraa citizens will elect 1,121 people, distributed over 100 to the Daraa Governorate Council, 27 to the Daraa City Council, 275 to the rest of the city councils, 449 to the town councils, and 270 municipalities.
