A cellar fire in Greiling caused around 40,000 euros in damage.
The fire was probably caused by a defective battery.
Greiling - On Sunday at around 7.05 a.m., a 58-year-old woman from Greiling and her husband, who lived on Bergweg, were alerted by a smoke detector that thick smoke was coming from the boiler room into the stairwell.

Fire started from batteries that were being charged
The fire brigade found an open fire.
However, it did not come from the heating system, but probably from battery packs that were just being charged.
Fire brigade prevents the flames from spreading to other rooms
The fire brigade extinguished the fire and prevented the fire from spreading to other rooms.
According to the police, the cause of the fire is suspected to be a defect in one of the batteries.
In addition to the police, the BRK rescue service and the Greilinger fire brigade, the firefighters from Reichersbeuern and Bad Tölz were also alerted.
The police put the amount of damage caused to property at around 40,000 euros.
