Hollywood-worthy scenes played out in the middle of the Bavarian Forest: Five motorcyclists fled from the police at crazy speed – four were caught.

Patersdorf – On Sunday morning, August 7, around 9.45 a.m., a simple police check turned into an extensive chase in eastern Bavaria.

A total of five motorcyclists fled from the police in the Regen and Freyung-Grafenau districts - four of them were finally caught by the officers.

A police officer was slightly injured in the action.

Also on Sunday, a car trip ended fatally when the father and son were thrown out of the car.

Chase in Bavaria: Five motorcyclists flee at over 200 km/h

The chase began when a patrol from the Viechtach police station wanted to check a motorcyclist at a roundabout on federal highway 11.

According to the police press release, the Yamaha rider was among a group of five motorcyclists.

When they became aware of the patrol, they accelerated and fled on the federal highway 85 in the direction of Passau.

"Despite the stop and special signals being switched on, the group accelerated to 220 km/h according to initial findings," reports the police.

Police call for reinforcements in the chase - a motorcyclist escapes

A roadblock was set up at Rinchnach after further patrols had been called in to provide support.

This proved to be successful: The officers managed to pull three of the motorcyclists out of traffic.

The other two, however, were able to bypass the barrier and drove on towards Passau at top speed.

During another check, the fourth driver gave up and turned himself in to the police.

The last remaining driver only faked giving up.

After slowing down briefly, he suddenly accelerated again and sped past the police officers.

One officer suffered minor arm injuries.

However, his number plate is known – the driver is now being searched for.

Investigations against drivers – police are looking for victims

The Passau Traffic Police Inspectorate and the Passau Public Prosecutor's Office are leading the investigations into the motorcyclists.

The men between the ages of 23 and 54 are accused, among other things, of illegal motor vehicle racing.

Witnesses and victims are being sought in connection with the investigation.

Anyone who has been harmed, coerced or endangered by the motorcyclists' driving style should contact the Passau Traffic Police Inspectorate on (08 51) 9 51 15 02 1.

The police are also asking witnesses to the chase to come forward.
