Matan, a graduate of the 2012 economic annexes course, served in his last position as an advisor to the Director General of the Ministry of Economy and Industry, Dr. Ron Malka.
In his previous positions in recent years, Cohen was the director of the Americas desk, director of the China desk and director of the international financial institutions department in the Foreign Trade Administration at the Ministry of Economy. In 2014-2018 he served as the head of delegations of the Ministry of Economy and Industry in Romania.
Turkey is the fourth most important trade partner for Israel's economy and the fifth most important export destination in 2021. Between Israel and Turkey there is an agreement for a free trade area, since May 1, 1997 - within the framework of which there were four rounds of a mixed economic committee between the countries, the last of which was held in Jerusalem in July 2009.
