The electric Ford F-150 Lightning could soon be on the road in the USA as a police car and replace the Crown Victoria.
The advantages are apparent.
When it comes to US police cars, the vast majority of people will probably first think of one model: the Ford Crown Victoria.
To this day, the limousine is very popular with the police authorities, as it is considered to be particularly reliable and inexpensive to maintain.
But the Crown Victoria hasn't been built since 2011. According to Ford, the F-150 Lightning should succeed it in inner cities.
At this point, skeptics may object that it is not possible to pursue criminals with an electric car because the range is not sufficient.
But even with combustion engines, the tank will eventually be empty.
However, the switch to the electric pickup truck - which goes by the name of the Ford F-150 Lightning Pro Special Service Vehicle - also has a host of advantages for the authorities.

The Ford F-150 Lightning is not only large and powerful, but also cheaper to maintain than a combustion engine.
In addition, the electric pick-up is a real acceleration monster despite its weight.
It sprints from zero to 60 miles per hour (96 km/h) in just four seconds.
Due to the omission, the Stromer even offers additional storage space for equipment under the bonnet.
The loading area in the rear of the Ford F-150 Lightning is almost again up to 1,495 liters despite the double cabin.
The interior is also easy to clean and is equipped with stable brackets for radio and communication devices.
The seats were reinforced with metal plates.

But the most practical is probably another function of the Ford F-150 Lightning.
The electric pick-up can also be used as a power source.
In use, for example, floodlights or other electrical devices could be operated at a crime scene or an accident site.
