The liter of diesel has lost four cents in one week, from 1.87 euros on July 29 to 1.83 euros on August 5, according to official data.

Good news for vacationers and workers in August, fuel prices continue to fall.

According to the latest data from the Ministry of Ecological Transition, the liter of diesel recorded a significant drop last week.

It thus fell from 1.87 euro on 29 July to 1.83 euro on Friday 5 August, a decline of four cents.

As for other fuels, their prices have also fallen, but only by one to two cents per litre.

For example, 95 unleaded went from 1.84 euro to 1.83 euro, 95-E10 liter unleaded from 1.80 to 1.79 euro and 98 unleaded from 1 .92 to 1.90 euros.

However, two fuels recorded an increase of one cent per litre: superethanol E85 (from 80 to 81 cents) and LPG (from 85 to 86 cents).

Since the beginning of the summer, the drop in fuel prices has been even more flagrant.

The liter of diesel thus lost 13 cents during the first three weeks of July and that of SP95-E10 16 cents.

At the start of the school year, prices should continue to decrease, in particular via the compromise found between the government and the right.

During the examination of the 2022 amending finance bill, elected officials voted to increase the rebate by 18 cents for each liter of fuel.

It will rise to 30 cents in September-October, before dropping to 10 cents per liter in November-December.

In addition to this government measure, there is also the aid of TotalEnergies.

From September 1 to November 1, the oil group will set up a discount of 20 cents per liter in its 3,500 tricolor stations, including in Corsica and Overseas.

This discount will then decrease to 10 centimes per liter from November 1 to December 31.

By combining the gestures of the State and distributors, the Minister of the Economy, Bruno Le Maire, considers it possible to have “

a price per liter of petrol or diesel at the start of the school year around 1.50 euros

”.
