High Court of Justice: The state must respond to the petition against Silman's possible armor in Likud
Judge Elron accepted the request of the movement for the quality of government, and determined that the ombudsman and the prosecutor's office should respond by August 22. According to estimates, Netanyahu may retain the former coalition chairman on the Likud list for the Knesset, in exchange for her retirement from the Bennett government

The High Court ruled this evening (Monday) that the state must respond to the petition of the movement for the quality of government regarding the possible armoring of MK Idit Silman on the Likud list ahead of the upcoming Knesset elections.
Judge Yosef Elron gave the legal adviser to the government and the attorney's office to submit a preliminary response until August 22.
Silman, a member of "Yamina", served as the chairman of the coalition in the outgoing government and was under heavy pressure from the Likud and the group of parties supporting Binyamin Netanyahu to withdraw from it. Her eventual resignation from the government in April hastened her downfall and the dissolution of the Knesset. According to the Movement for the Quality of Government, it is possible that between Silman and the Likud An illegal armor agreement was reached, which is a violation of the law, and therefore "a hasty response by the legal adviser to the government" is necessary.
