A paying strategy?
More than a month after the start of the new legislature in the Assembly, the Republican deputies are displaying their serenity.
In a Palais Bourbon with a greatly renewed composition, the LRs have shown their desire to set themselves up as
“the only useful opposition”
to the government.
Without an absolute majority, he understood the need to obtain the votes of the Republicans on the various pieces of legislation in order to avoid a real political deadlock.
“It is a completely unprecedented situation”,
recalls the deputy LR Michel Herbillon, who has however seen others – he has sat in the National Assembly since 1997. With 59 registered in the LR group and 3 relatives, the party was able to influence the content of bills.
