The Public Establishment for Drinking Water in Al-Hasakah Governorate has taken several technical measures to improve the reality of drinking water in the city of Qamishli through the maintenance of stations and pumps with the support of international organizations.

The head of the Qamishli Water Unit, Engineer Ahmed Mikhelev, said in a statement to SANA reporter that the improvement in the water situation in the city of Qamishli recently is due to the continuous maintenance work of the stations, monitoring wells and solving the problem of poor pumping in the city, specifically in the staff neighborhood through the implementation of maintenance projects in cooperation with international organizations and repair Malfunctions caused by terrorist attacks on the water network.

Mikhlif pointed out that the Qamishli water unit is currently working to address the poor pumping and the lack of water reaching a number of homes located at the end of the water network and high places by pumping large quantities of water in those areas to ensure that it reaches all homes and dividing the city into two parts to complete the toilet of each 24 hours and there are neighborhoods in the city where water is available all day without interruption.

There are three water stations in the city of Qamishli: Al-Hilaliya station, which includes 152 wells, with an abundance of between 40 and 75 cubic meters per hour, Al-Jaghjig station, which includes 6 wells, and Al-Awija station, which includes 16 wells, in addition to 12 other wells in the neighborhoods. Al-Safan in the city of Al-Malikiyah. The length of the water network lines is about 475 km, covering the entire organizational scheme of the city of Qamishli.

The Water Corporation has carried out several maintenance operations for stations and pumps with the support of the United Nations Development Program, the International Red Cross and the Syrian Red Crescent, including maintenance and rehabilitation works for the Crescent station.

The head of Al-Hilaliya station, Engineer Ali Hassan, indicated that general maintenance operations were carried out for the station, which included the replacement of a number of old tracks and the replacement of pipes for the new hall in the station.
