Inflation: these municipalities which give a “boost” to their inhabitants

FOCUS - Faced with galloping inflation, villages in Orne, Haute-Loire and Pyrénées-Atlantiques are implementing initiatives to help the most vulnerable.


Without waiting for state aid, some villages take it upon themselves to protect their constituents from inflation.

“Government aid is one thing, but we also wanted to make our contribution,

explains Laurence Lales, assistant in charge of solidarity at La Ferrière-aux-Étangs, in Orne.

During the Covid, we discovered that many people were struggling to make ends meet, often retirees with small pensions who are struggling to heat themselves or eat food.

The city council has therefore released the sum of 10,000 euros to help 100 households in need.

The 1,500 inhabitants of the town can now fill out a form in order to receive, if the file is accepted, a voucher for 100 euros from September 9.
