The head of the Supreme Judicial Committee for Elections, Judge Counselor Jihad Murad, and the Governor of Damascus, Engineer Muhammad Tariq Kreishati, inspected the progress of the process of receiving applications for those wishing to run for the elections of members of the Damascus Provincial Council in the governorate building.
Counselor Murad explained in a statement to SANA reporter that the number of those wishing to run for candidacy witnessed an acceptable increase yesterday and today, as the candidate presents his papers with ease and ease as a result of the careful organization and the staff dedicated to receiving applications and securing all the requirements for that.
Murad indicated that the majority of submitted applications are accepted for fulfilling the legal conditions, as the judicial nomination committees carefully study the applications and verify the documents according to the required conditions and facilitate the affairs of the candidates, stressing that the next stage requires us to be constructive and effective to contribute to the reconstruction stage.
In turn, the governor of Damascus confirmed that the governorate has secured all the logistical equipment and requirements for the process of receiving applications for candidates, indicating that the main citizen service center in the governorate building continues to work daily from eight in the morning until eight in the evening, and the person wishing to nominate can obtain all the documents required of him, in addition to the service centers that open their doors throughout official working hours.
Krishati stressed the importance of the role of provincial council members and their contribution to decision-making, in addition to being the link between the citizen and the executive authority.
Members of the Supreme Judicial Committee for Elections and the Head of the Judicial Subcommittee in Damascus participated in the tour.
