2022-08-08T20:49:56.634Z

40,000 functionaries will determine the party's list, which will be divided equally between men and women.

Today the Labor Party will hold internal elections (primaries) for the party list for the 25th Knesset.

In the background of the "Dawn" operation, the party management considered postponing the primaries in recent days, but in light of the ceasefire, the party decided to hold the primaries today as usual.

Voting in the primaries will take place mostly by digital means, and four polling stations will be set up for the incumbents to vote physically in Tel Aviv, Jerusalem, Haifa and Be'er Sheva.

According to the party's data, there are about 40,000 eligible voters who will be able to choose 7-5 candidates and nominations from among the 33 different contestants.

The main battle in the primaries is between the incumbent MKs of the party. Due to the fact that Merav Michaeli has approved in the primaries regulations to maintain a list with gender equality, the candidates will be placed in a list in the form of research between men and women.

Against the background of this division, the men compete mainly against the men and the women against the women.

In the female section, many in the party estimate that Efrat Reiten is expected to finish as the first woman.

After her, Emily Moati and Naama Lazimi compete for the position of the second woman, with Moati enjoying the popularity advantage over Lazimi, who also got stronger.

Muati also distinguished herself by investing in the political issue, while Lazimi enjoys the support of Shelly Yachimowitz's camp and takes credit for her struggles in favor of the periphery and raising the minimum wage and other social issues.

The one who is in the back among the women is Abtisam Marana.

In the male section, many in the work estimate that Gilad Karib is a leader among the sitting MKs. Ram Shefa has grown stronger in the last year within the party and he competes mainly with Omar Bar-Lev - who, despite the many storms during his term that hurt him, is still valued by the veterans of the party. In the work they say that Nachman Shai's condition is less good and the one blowing his neck is Yaya Fink, who is considered the leading and surprising candidate among the candidates who are not members of the Knesset.

Ram Shefa answered yesterday in the "Israel Hayom" studio to the question of which place he will be elected: "I hope very high. I admit that I worked very hard this year. I did everything inside the Knesset and did not hang around outside. I did not forget anyone, but I felt that I was expected to fight. That the faction will work in partnership and above all that we will try to keep about the coalition".

Chairman of the Labor Party and Minister of Transportation Merav Michaeli said before the primaries: "Many parties talk about democracy.

about its importance, its contribution and the need to preserve it.

Unfortunately, many of those parties do not maintain democracy and thus contribute to its weakening and decline.

Opposite them is the Labor Party, a true democratic party where decisions are taken and made together, listen to the voting public and conduct primaries for the leadership of the party and the list properly.

I wish great success to all the contestants and I am sure that together we will put together an excellent list for the Knesset."
