Ministry of Foreign Affairs: "Amnesty has become Israel's enemy - alongside Iran and Hezbollah" | Israel today

2022-08-08T14:26:08.951Z

A report by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs describes how the "Human Rights Organization" presents Israel with apartheid crimes against Palestinians inside the Green Line and in the territories. "In recent years, the organization has become the spearhead of Israel's enemies"

A report by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs states that the Amnesty organization has become a "major generator of delegitimization in the apartheid discourse that is being waged against the State of Israel". According to the report, the organization, under the leadership of Secretary General Agnes Clammerd, exploits its image as a seemingly objective human rights organization, To "serve as a vehicle for accusing Israel of being an apartheid state and to be a 'source of authority' for establishment parties, political parties and boycott and delegitimization organizations."

The report is full of examples of Amnesty's extreme approach and bias against Israel. For example, on February 1, 2022, Amnesty published a report under the title: "Israeli apartheid against Palestinians: a cruel system of oppression and a crime against humanity."

According to the report, Israel has been an apartheid state since its establishment in 1948. Its authors do not distinguish between Israeli Arabs and Palestinians in the West Bank and Gaza, nor between territories inside or outside the Green Line.

They state that there are Israelis and Palestinians (referring to Israeli Arabs as Palestinians and not as citizens of the state), and that the former "oppress" the latter.

After the publication of the report, a delegation led by Kalmared met with PA Chairman Abu Mazen in Ramallah, and assured him that the report was merely a first step, and that 70 branches of the organization around the world intend to work with the governments in their countries "to end the apartheid regime."

"We have work to do in the coming months and years," Clammerd said to Abu Mazen, "to do everything in the power of international organizations to expose the apartheid methods and the crimes committed by Israel against the Palestinians."

Indeed, after the publication of the report, the organization's employees worked and are still working to promote it and spread its messages around the world, with an emphasis on Europe, the USA, Africa and Judea and Samaria.

They do this by participating in dedicated discussions and digital seminars ("webinars"), sometimes together with delegitimization organizations.

These discussions deal with the subject of the report in particular or the subject of "Israeli apartheid" in general. At the same time, Amnesty is involved in the activities of the commission of inquiry against Israel established by the UN Human Rights Council, feeding it with biased information that presents Israel as an apartheid state.

Additional operations of Amnesty

On top of that, the organization took advantage of the "Israeli Apartheid Week", observed every year in March, to spread its messages in the field and online.

For example, the Spanish branch of the organization promoted a resolution in the parliament of Catalonia according to which "Israel commits crimes of apartheid", and the Spanish parliament in Madrid submitted a proposal for a resolution to recognize that "the regime that Israel implements in the occupied territories is against international law and is equivalent to the crime of apartheid".

A harsh criticism towards the organization.

The report of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs goes on to detail more and more actions and activities of Amnesty designed to introduce into the world consciousness the idea according to which Israel is an apartheid state. Among these activities can be found the "Picnics against Apartheid" organization in Ireland; participation in a digital seminar of the boycott organization against Israel AMP, held Under the title "Israel's crimes against humanity: Apartheid in Palestine"; and many other collaborations with the BDS movement and with various anti-Israel organizations.

Emanuel Nahshon, Deputy Director of Public Diplomacy and spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, told "Israel Hayom" following the publication of the report: "Amnesty is revealed to be one of the most hostile organizations to Israel in the world, a real enemy. Under a humanitarian guise, this organization conducts itself with selective hypocrisy and has become in recent years At the tip of the spear of Israel's enemies, along with Iran, Hezbollah and other haters of Israel. At the Foreign Ministry we will continue to work tirelessly to strengthen Israel in the world and to prevent any influence from those who want to destroy us."
