Russian Presidential Spokesman Dmitry Peskov confirmed that there is currently no basis for a meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukraine's Vladimir Zelensky, after the Ukrainian regime moved away from negotiations.
"A summit between Putin and Zelensky can only be held after a delegation of negotiators from both sides performs all its duties, and this element is missing, so there are currently no requirements and prerequisites for such a meeting," Peskov was quoted as saying by RIA Novosti news agency.
Peskov pointed out that the Ukrainian negotiating delegation has moved away from the matter and there is no negotiation process between Moscow and Kiev currently.
Commenting on the head of the Ukrainian regime yesterday that Kyiv will refuse to negotiate with Moscow in the event that referendums are held in some regions to join Russia, Peskov said: Russia is not the one who seeks to hold the referendum, and the head of the Ukrainian regime must understand who directs his statements to the citizens of the regions that want to join Russia, or to the citizens Russia, adding that "if it is about the citizens of Russia and its leadership, then we are the wrong address and he has to turn to his compatriots and ask why there are so many of them who do not want to live in their country."
