The thefts of sand, shells and pebbles on the beaches of Sardinia continue: during the checks at the Alghero airport, the officials of the Customs and Monopoly agency, in collaboration with the staff of Sogeaal Security, recovered 10 kg of sand, 7 kg of pebbles and 5 kg of shells, taken from the beaches of the north of the island.
The findings, which took place between 15 and 30 July, were recovered in the luggage of tourists of various nationalities - including Romanian, Polish, Swedish, Spanish, Serbian and Italian - departing from the Riviera del Corallo port.
Administrative sanctions were thus triggered ranging from a minimum of 500 euros to a maximum of 3,000 euros, in addition to the seizure of marine finds illegally taken.
