The band Rammstein wants to play a concert on the Theresienwiese in Munich at the turn of the year.
But there is resistance from the city and politicians.
Munich – Wrestling for Rammstein: The metal band's planned New Year's Eve concert with 145,000 visitors at the Wiesn is attracting increasing criticism.
The district committees are angry, Tollwood feels taken by surprise, and the police and district administration department (KVR) are also critical of the concert.
Munich: KVR boss Sammüller-Gradl sees a "problem with the short-term" because of the Rammstein concert
Its new boss, Hanna Sammüller-Gradl (Greens), said to our newspaper: "We have a problem with the short term.
It would be something completely different for the security authorities if the concert took place in the Olympic Park or on the exhibition grounds.
We already have experience with major events there.”
Above all, it is critical that after the concert the departure of the visitors has to be regulated.
“Most of them will leave the site at some point.
It needs planning with the transport company and the railways.” It would also have to be clarified what the fire brigade, the police, the district committees, but also the climate protection department say about the noise pollution.

Theresienwiese: Rammstein concert and Tollwood at the same time?
"Both won't work"
Sammüller-Gradl is convinced that it would be more promising to move the concert to the exhibition center or the Olympic Park due to the short notice.
"We also suggested that internally, but of course the two places don't hold 145,000 visitors." Personally, the new KVR boss also finds it difficult to imagine that a Rammstein concert can take place parallel to the Tollwood Winter Festival.
"Both may not work that way."
In fact, on Monday (August 8), a spokeswoman for Tollwood said: "We do not think it is possible to hold a concert and our New Year's Eve party and the quiet New Year's Eve gala with circus theater production and dancing at the same time."
As reported, the city council is to decide on Wednesday (August 10) whether the concert can take place.
The CSU voted unanimously for the concert on Monday.
The SPD says that the organizer should submit his concrete plans.
The KVR must decide.
The Greens want to advise on Tuesday (9 August).
