The Russian Embassy in Washington confirmed that the Ukrainian armed formations' targeting of the Zaporozhye nuclear plant is deliberate and threatens the nuclear security of Europe as a whole, not only Ukraine.

The Russia Today website quoted the embassy as saying in a statement on Telegram that “the media misinformation campaign in the Western media aimed at holding responsibility for the situation around the nuclear power plant in Zaporozhye for our country is clear and open, as it was reported arbitrarily that the Russian army carried out artillery bombardment on the territory of the nuclear power plant, while the reality is It is quite the opposite.”

The embassy confirmed that this bombing "is not the first provocation by Kyiv in the facilities that may result in a radiological hazard, and that the bombing of the station by the Ukrainian forces is deliberate and aims to discredit Russia, while the Ukrainian authorities are reckless about this matter."
