The weather forecast for Tuesday August 9: return of the heat wave in France

The heat is returning to the entire territory with the start of a heat wave observable in the South-West.


This Tuesday marks the return of the heat wave in several French departments of the South-West according to

La Chaîne Météo*.

In the North, the hot weather is also returning, but a light breeze helps maintain pleasant temperatures.

Thunderstorms may appear in the Alps.

Three departments are on heat wave orange alert: Gard, Vaucluse and Pyrénées-Orientales.

benefit from great blue skies from the start of the morning.

In the afternoon, the high temperatures are back with 34°C expected locally.

The English Channel is spared thanks to the breath of a north-easterly breeze.

The same applies to

Île-de-France

Hauts-de-France

and

Grand Est

, where the sun shines generously from daybreak.

In the south of the Somme, the high heat is generalized.

The maximum temperatures are summer with 23 to 32°C.

From the Centre-Val de Loire

, to

Burgundy-Franche-Comté

via

Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes,

very hot summer weather prevails with a drying north-easterly breeze.

Temperatures can rise up to 36°C in sectors.

From

New Aquitaine

to

Corsica

via

Occitanie

and the

PACA

region , the sun is present.

Storms can nevertheless break out on the Alpine massif.

The heat wave, meanwhile, settled in the south-west quarter with maximum temperatures between 31 and 38°C on average.
