Travis McMichael, one of the three white men who killed Ahmaud Arbery, was sentenced Monday to life in prison plus 10 years after being convicted earlier this year of interfering with rights, a federal felony. of hate, and attempted kidnapping in connection with the murder of the 25-year-old black man in 2020.
His father, Gregory McMichael, and his neighbor, William "Roddie" Bryan, will be sentenced later Monday in the same Georgia court on the same federal charges.
All three are already serving life sentences for their convictions in state court on a number of charges related to Arbery's crime, including murder.
Travis McMichael's life sentence must run concurrently with his state sentence, US District Court Judge Lisa Godbey Wood ruled.
