The state coffers continue to fill up:
according to the Ministry of Finance data published today (Monday), the accumulated budget surplus in the last 12 months increased by 0.2% and was about 0.6% of the GDP.
This is the second consecutive month in which a cumulative budget surplus has been measured.
In July, a budget surplus of approximately NIS 2.6 billion was recorded, which is largely due to the volume of tax revenue collection.
The Treasury notes that with the exception of June, which amounted to a deficit of 1.5 billion shekels, since the beginning of the year a budget surplus of approximately 34.4 billion shekels has been measured - an unusual amount for Israel.
Since the beginning of the year, the state's revenues totaled approximately 281 billion shekels, compared to approximately 231 billion in the corresponding period last year - this is an increase of approximately 21% compared to the corresponding period last year.
The government's expenditures since the beginning of the year amounted to approximately NIS 246.5 billion, of which approximately NIS 5.2 billion were spent on the economic aid program to deal with the Corona crisis.
These expenses reflect a decrease of 10.7% compared to the corresponding period last year which originates from the expenses of the economic assistance program.
