Tuen Mun Murder | 17-year-old boy charged with murder and wounding, 21-year-old man released on bail

Police said they reclassified a case of wounding in Tuen Mun on August 6 as a murder case. The police received a report at about 2 a.m. on August 6 that three men were suspected of being attacked with a hard object outside a restaurant on Tsing Ling Path, Tuen Mun.

The police received a report at about 2 am on August 6 that three men were suspected of being attacked with a hard object outside a restaurant in Tsing Ling Path, Tuen Mun.

Officers rushed to the scene and found a 22-year-old man, Leung X-jia, with head injuries. He was unconscious and was sent to Tuen Mun Hospital for treatment.

After preliminary investigation, officers arrested a 21-year-old man Mo Xian and a 17-year-old boy on the same day on suspicion of "wounding people".

The 22-year-old man was confirmed dead at 2.59pm yesterday (August 8).


After further investigation, the police reclassified the case as "murder".

Police seized five advertising boards, suspected of being related to the case.

The 17-year-old boy was charged with one count of "murder" and two counts of "wounding person". The case appeared in Tuen Mun Magistrates' Courts this morning (August 9).

In addition, the 21-year-old man has been released on bail pending investigation and must report to the police in early September.

Police will later arrange a post-mortem on the deceased to determine the cause of death.


Police said the Tuen Mun District Anti-Triad Action Team is actively investigating the case.

Police do not rule out more arrests at a later date.
