A residential fire broke out in Tuen Mun.
At about 1:58 a.m. today (9th), a high-rise unit in the Siu Wing Building of Siu Hong Court caught fire. The fire was violent and thick with smoke. A large number of residents were alerted to report for help. Some people were trapped in the unit and could not escape.
The firefighters arrived to set up a temporary command station, and used a hose and a team of smoke caps to put out the fire, and put the fire out at 2:44 in the morning.
During the fire, at least 2 men and 2 women were initially sent to Tuen Mun Hospital for treatment. Fortunately, they were all awake. Nearly 100 residents were evacuated to a safe place for shelter. Among them, there were children who were barefooted and carried by their parents to escape from the building.
