Mirza explained that the focus on women's participation in local council elections, whether to run for office or perform their duty by electing whomever they find appropriate to activate service work, aims to have comprehensive community participation in the elections, stressing the importance of the right to political and social participation, especially that the local administration law urged the expansion of Women's participation in the elections.

Mirza indicated that the ambition of launching the campaign is to reach more active participation to activate the work of the national strategy to support and empower women and the plan for gender equality.

In her turn, the Chairperson of the Board of Trustees of the “Here is My Identity” Developmental Foundation, Maria Saadeh, explained that women in Syria have proven their presence and their ability to assume great responsibility in all fields. It entered the sectors of the economy, production and labor by more than 80 percent in some fields.

Saadeh added that women's participation in local council elections is important because they are best able to know the necessary services for each region, as they have become experienced in various fields of work.
