As part of the campaign activities (You Can…You Deserve), the Syrian Commission for Family and Population Affairs held today, in cooperation with the Drama Road Institute, a panel discussion to discuss the role of women in drama, at the Paradise Hotel in Damascus.

A group of institute students participated in acting and scriptwriting, and included discussions and presentation of experiences of success stories, the roles that women have embodied in drama, and issues related to women that can be highlighted in upcoming dramas.

Parliament member and committee member Dr. Ruba Mirza explained in a statement to SANA that the activities being carried out in the campaign have a major role in promoting the role of women and gender equality, pointing out that it is necessary to identify, through seminars, the views of young people on these issues, which contributes to promoting Women's issues and highlight their duties.

Director of Family Issues in the Commission, Rana Khalifawi, indicated that the aim of holding the symposium is to address groups that have an influence on ideas to enhance awareness in society about women’s issues, pointing out the importance of texts and dramatic works presented in this field by motivating women to participate and nominate so that the percentage of women represented in councils The local administration is great.

For her part, a member of the teaching staff at the Higher Institute of Dramatic Arts, Rania Al-Jabban, indicated that the dramas presented focus heavily on women’s issues because the social responsibility has become great for them in light of the economic conditions facing Syria, indicating the importance of participatory opinions between the social, service and student system to reach results. Reflect on the benefit of the entire community.

The Executive Director of the Rod Drama Institute, Jehan Mardini, pointed out that the symposium is important in benefiting from the experiences and experiences of a number of successful women, and scriptwriting students can benefit from them in the future by highlighting them.

A number of institute students indicated that the drama is currently focusing heavily on women’s issues, where their suffering and problems in society are highlighted, and the drama has contributed to supporting them psychologically and morally. Employing it and displaying it in any upcoming drama.

It is noteworthy that the Syrian Commission for Family and Population Affairs launched on the 4th of this month a campaign under the slogan (You can… you deserve) in cooperation with the Syria Youth Imprint Foundation to promote women’s participation in the elections of local administration councils, in partnership with a group of concerned ministries and in all governorates.
