The death of the cyclist, in his 30s, who was hit by a truck in Rishon Lezion today (Tuesday), has been determined.
The MDA team performed CPR on him and evacuated him in critical condition to Tel Hashomer Hospital, where the doctors had to pronounce him dead.
MDA paramedic Shahar Hizkelevitz and MDA senior medic Mouid Ergan said: "This is a very serious accident. The cyclist was trapped under the truck while he was unconscious. We quickly rescued him and began to give him life-saving medical treatment that included dressings and administering medication, we put him in a treatment van He was rushed and during the evacuation to the hospital, his condition deteriorated and we started performing CPR on him until we arrived at the hospital.
In the meantime, the police detained the truck driver suspected of being involved in the fatal accident for questioning.
The driver, a resident of Lod, in his forties, was detained for questioning by the traffic examiners of the Shafla area. The questioning is ongoing.
