Ofra Strauss, Chairman of the Strauss Board of Directors, announced the request of Giura Bar Dea to end his position:
Bar Dea served for five years as President and CEO of the Strauss Group and after 26 years in which he served in a wide variety of management positions.
Ofra Strauss: "Gyura's journey at Strauss is an extraordinary 26-year journey, a journey rich in achievements, of exceptional value leadership, tremendous love for the company and its people, a journey of managerial courage and the audacity to take every arena he has managed over the years to a leap forward. Giura has a unique share in the success And in every milestone of a group, certainly during the period when I serve as the chairperson.
"Gyora felt that it was time to make a change, a personal change and a change in the group. Giora will continue to lead Strauss in the coming months and thus will allow us to have an orderly and professional process to find a replacement for the position."
Bar Dea stated that "I committed when I took office to prepare the company for the challenges of the future, and so we did, together. Last summer we completed the design of a new vision for the company, formulated a strategic plan that was approved and communicated at the beginning of 2022, and these days we are launching the work plans and the operational model derived from the strategy for the coming years The company has an array of amazing managers and employees who will take the reins in the coming years. As in the past, I am here until a new CEO is found and arrives and I will do my best to assist his entry.
Strauss was and will remain a home for me."
The salmonella crisis
As you may remember, last April the food giant announced a recall for all the products produced at the factory in the Galilee landscape.
Nearly a billion shekels were "erased" from the market value of the Strauss company, with the stock falling by about 9% in three days, since the dramatic announcement of the presence of salmonella at the Nof HaGilil plant.
