Before the start of the new school year, young people implemented an initiative to promote personal hygiene and prevent diseases and epidemics at Al-Baath School in Daraa Al-Balad.
The initiative, in which the adolescents participated with the volunteers of the Syrian Arab Red Crescent branch, included cleaning work for the public facilities in the school and the rehabilitation of water taps.
The head of the Red Crescent branch, Dr. Ahmed Al-Masalma, explained to SANA reporter today that the initiative came as a result and the conclusion of the life skills program, whose sessions were attended by 123 young people over two months in Daraa Al-Balad, with the support of the United Nations Children’s Fund “UNICEF”, indicating that the aim of the initiative is to secure a clean and healthy water source. To drink while protecting against the risk of hepatitis, diarrhea, dehydration, digestive disorders, typhoid and others.
