Companies call for changes to Russia sanctions - "Don't ruin the middle class"

Russia sanctions: companies call on government to readjust
An open letter to Federal Chancellor Olaf Scholz (SPD) shows how much the current situation is worrying a wide range of companies and sectors.
In this fire letter, several consumer cooperatives and companies call on the Chancellor and the traffic light coalition to act as quickly as possible and to “readjust” the embargo policy towards Russia.
These include the Central Consumption eG, the consumer cooperative Weimar eG or the Stendaler Landesbäckerei and the Röstfein coffee company.

The letter also sets out the areas in which the current situation is particularly acute and where the government should intervene as soon as possible.

These would "significantly exacerbate" the problem of the shortage of skilled workers and "completely wrong accents would be set in terms of labor market and social policy".

Energy crisis: companies see no further savings opportunities
In addition, something should also be done against the rising energy prices.
Especially since further savings are hardly possible.
The letter literally says: “The cost side is exploding, the revenue side is shrinking.
The savings model has been exhausted.” There is also talk of “irreparable damage” for the employees, customers and cooperatives with their around 180,000 members.
Various companies such as industrial companies, hotels and service companies with a turnover of 700 million euros are "acutely endangered".
At the end of the fire letter, the reminders to Scholz become particularly clear again.
"The sanctions should hit Putin, not ruin German small and medium-sized businesses," it says.
Scholz should make politics that companies could live with "and not go under".
Otherwise, according to the warning from the cooperatives, business deaths, unemployment and falling tax revenues could result.
