Daraa craftsmen consider that the presence of someone who represents them and expresses their interests in the city and town councils in the upcoming local administration elections is a step in finding solutions to multiple craft problems in this field on the ground, and to contribute to making their voice heard when laws and legislation are issued that are in the interest of craft work in cooperation with the relevant authorities .
Head of the Craftsmen Union in Daraa Shukri Babouj called in a statement to SANA to participate in the local administration elections and to nominate whoever finds himself able to represent this sector in city and town councils and the ability to secure the requirements of craftsmen.
For his part, the head of the Administrative and Legal Office of the Craftsmen Union, Ayman Al-Dammad, indicated that the representation of craftsmen in local councils is an embodiment of the legislative decree on craft organization, stressing that the participation of craftsmen, whether in candidacy or election, is necessary because they will choose the closest and most capable of addressing their problems.
The head of the Food and Chemical Industries Association in the Craftsmen Union, Ahmed Al-Darraji, noted the need to nominate someone who has the ability to represent the craftsmen category in the local administration elections, which citizens have been looking forward to in recent times to achieve a real breakthrough in the work of city and town councils.
Among the workers in the Craftsmen’s Union, Duha Mikhail saw that the local administration elections are a true expression of democracy, and it is the woman’s duty to participate in candidacy and elections based on her role in society and her participation with men in all aspects of life, including crafts.
The number of craftsmen registered in the Daraa Craftsmen Union is 7,847.
