On the district road between Poing and Neufarn, a speed limit of 70 will apply in future before the town limits of Poing, Angelrechting and Neufarn.
Traffic funnels will be set up.
Poing – The Ebersberg District Office did not quite meet the demand from the municipalities of Poing and Vaterstetten for a continuous speed limit from 100 to 70 km/h.
However, the district authority is taking a step towards the municipalities: speed funnels are being introduced on the EBE 2 district road in front of the town limits of Poing, Angelrechting and Neufarn.
From about 100 meters before the respective town entrances, 70 km/h signs will be set up, the Poing municipal administration announced on its website.
The implementation will take place in the next few days by the Rosenheim State Building Authority.
The responsible Ebersberg district office issued the traffic law order on July 26, the town hall informed.

The municipalities of Poing and Vaterstetten had submitted a joint application to the district office in the spring, demanding that the speed be limited from 100 to 70 km/h on the out-of-town sections.
On April 27, the mayors Thomas Stark (Poing, non-partisan) and Leonard Spitzauer (Vaterstetten, CSU) signed the corresponding application to the district office.
A short time later, District Administrator Robert Niedergesäß (CSU) said at a press event: "If it's up to me, we can meet it (meaning the application, the editor)." However, the framework conditions would have to be checked and, in particular, whether and how possible with a view to the road traffic regulations.

It provides for a speed limit of 100 km/h on out-of-town district roads.
As is the case on the sections between Poing and Angelrechting as well as Angelrechting and Neufarn.
But there is nothing to speak against a speed funnel, because the district office has now ordered it.
Tempo 70 in front of the town entrance
This is intended to achieve what the two municipalities and in particular the Poing municipal council hope: that drivers will slow down before they enter the town and, above all, on the section of road that leads through Angelrechting in the town centre, they will actually only drive at the 50 km/h permitted there .
In the balance sheet of the municipal traffic surveillance, which is regularly used in Angelrechting, among other places, the absolute leader of the municipality of Poing was measured on that section of the road in 2021: at 123 km/h instead of the permitted 50. Another road user came in second , who raced through Angelrechting too quickly – at the age of 90.
