Donald Trump was known for tearing up official documents as US President, even though they are required by law to be kept.
He is said to have even thrown certain documents into the toilet and flushed them down.
So far, Trump had always rejected these representations.
Pictures are now available to confirm the process.
The photos show several toilet bowls with pieces of paper floating in them.
These show notes that closely resemble Trump's handwriting.
They also appear to be written in the dark felt-tipped pen that the former President likes to use.
At least one of the toilets is said to be in the White House.
The US site Axios has published the images.
They were therefore leaked to the journalist Maggie Haberman, who repeatedly uncovers scandals surrounding Trump for the “New York Times”.
Her book »Confidence Man« about the Trump presidency will be published in October.
It also includes the toilet story, details of which were leaked back in February.
It was said that toilets were blocked several times by the paper residue.
The Trump camp had rejected all allegations at the time, photos had not yet circulated.
Now, too, a representative of the Republican spoke of a "manufacture" with a political background.
It is well known that Trump repeatedly tore up and threw away documents.
Employees then fished the papers out of the trash can and forwarded them for archiving.
The US National Archives is responsible for preserving records of past presidents.
It said it received documents that were torn and taped back together, but also unrepaired, following Trump's departure from the White House in January 2021.
FBI raid on Mar-a-Lago
From the photos that are now being distributed, it is difficult to see exactly what is written on the documents.
In one case, however, the name Stefanik can be clearly identified.
Elise Stefanik, Republican MP from the state of New York, is considered a potential contender for the post of vice president should Trump run again in 2024.
It was announced on Monday evening that the FBI had searched the former President's property in Florida.
As the "Guardian" reports, the FBI operation began around 6 p.m. (local time).
It could possibly be related to the fact that Trump illegally took documents from the White House to Mar-a-Lago after his presidency, the "Guardian" quotes an unnamed person who is familiar with the processes.
