The Magistrate's Court in Rishon Lezion sentenced Senator Niso Guetta to a five-month suspended sentence for attacking protesters during the demonstrations near the Prime Minister's residence on Balfour Street in the capital. Police officers who, according to her, acted violently.

Guetta is expected to continue in his position in the Jerusalem District, and was even recorded with Commissioner Kobi Shabtai and Minister of Internal Security Amr Bar Lev earlier this week as part of the preparations for the Jewish Ascension to the Temple Mount on Tisha B'Av. About two months ago, a court convicted Guetta of violence against two demonstrators during the Balfour protest in August 2020. In the verdict, the judge ruled that she "convicts him of assaulting the two demonstrators".

The Department of Police Investigations stated: "The court accepted our position, convicted the defendant, sentenced him to a suspended sentence and determined that a senior police officer, who while performing his duties committed an assault offense - will be prosecuted. It is hoped that the verdict will be a warning sign for every police officer regarding the duty to drive Professionally and avoid the use of force and violence, certainly when it comes to a commander who is an example to his subordinates."
