Due to a bomb threat, the Hans Sachs House in Gelsenkirchen was closed.
The police are on site and speak of a "threatening situation".
Gelsenkirchen – There is a large police operation in downtown Gelsenkirchen.
Apparently there was a bomb threat on the Hans-Sachs-Haus, as confirmed by the city of Gelsenkirchen.
The area is cordoned off.
"Please drive around the area extensively," writes the police on Twitter.
The emergency services speak of a "threat situation in downtown Gelsenkirchen," reports 24RHEIN.
The circumstances are currently unclear.
All appointments scheduled for today in the Hans-Sachs-Haus are cancelled, the city of Gelsenkirchen explains.

According to current information from the police, there are also operations on Bochumer Straße and Zeppelinallee in this context.
One is with "numerous forces in the city center," the police continued.

The call is said to have come in just before 1 p.m. this Tuesday (August 9).
After that, the town hall in the city center was cleared.
