Energy snacks are a tricky thing, although they have the image of healthier snacks, they are often loaded with sugar, stabilizers and all kinds of other things, which make them a little less healthy.

So what is the solution?

Homemade energy bars

Ingredients

    • 3 cups rice crackers

    • ¾ peanut butter

    • teaspoon of vanilla extract

    • ¼ cup maple

  • For coating:

    • 200 grams dark chocolate

    • 2 tablespoons of coconut oil

Preparation

How do you make homemade energy bars?

  • 1 In a bowl, melt the peanut butter and maple together in the microwave in pulses of 30 seconds.

  • 2 Add the vanilla and rice crackers to the bowl and mix well.

  • 3 Align in a not large rectangular pan with baking paper at the bottom and fasten well.

  • 4 Transfer to the freezer for at least half an hour.

  • 5 Melt the chocolate with the coconut oil and pour on top.

  • 6 Cool again and slice into cubes.

  • 7 Keep in a sealed box in the refrigerator until serving.
