Installed hidden cameras in his roommate's shower: The Central District Attorney's Office submitted to the Magistrate's Court in Petah Tikva an indictment against Maor Araki from Jerusalem (26), for the offenses of violation of privacy and an indecent act, after he spied on his roommate and penetrated his personal thoughts.
The indictment states that during the time Araki lived with the complainant in her apartment in Petah Tikva, he installed hidden cameras in the shower and in the living room of the apartment, and for months watched videos of her in intimate situations, which he also saved on his computer and mobile phone.
Also, Araki planted a listening device on the back of the complainant's bed, with which he listened to her and her conversations.
On top of that, the accused penetrated the complainant's personal thoughts, and looked at intimate correspondence she maintained on WhatsApp, and even sent himself private photos of her that she kept on him.
indecent act
When the complainant discovered the listening device that Araki planted in her bed, she confronted him and called the police, then she learned about the cameras he had installed in the apartment.
The indictment, submitted by Attorney Yitzhak Murdoch, charges the defendant with the offenses of violation of privacy, eavesdropping, installation of a listening device without a permit, indecent act and intrusion into computer material for the purpose of committing a crime.
