The German cult band Rammstein wants to give a mega concert on the Theresienwiese on New Year's Eve.

The city sees opportunities - KVR and the police have concerns.

Munich - New Year's Eve, Rammstein, 145,000 spectators - conditions that should not cause surprise for the band Rammstein, known for their gigantic concerts.

However, if the Theresienwiese in Munich is added as the event location, the theoretical feasibility begins to falter.

Well, the Theresienwiese welcomes millions of visitors to the Oktoberfest, which is now scheduled to take place again for the first time in two years.

So the capacities are there – but the traditional Windertollwood is also taking place at the same time.

It's getting a little cramped, not to mention the noise pollution for Tollwood, which is celebrating the new year in a rather relaxed manner.

Rammstein concert on New Year's Eve on the Theresienwiese: advertising effects and increase in sales

It is these and more questions that the city, administration, authorities, organizers and administrations have to deal with.

Tendencies are clearly discernible so far: It is expected that the city council will give the go-ahead on Wednesday, August 10th for the general allocation of the Theresienwiese as an event location.

The meeting draft of the Department for Labor and Economics states: "The organizer expects about 145,000 spectators for the Rammstein concert on the Theresienwiese".

The office sees positive effects of the major event here: A worldwide advertising effect would occur, and the hotel and catering industry would expect a strong increase in sales.

Rammstein in Munich: Concerns of the authorities and security officers

For example, the district administration department (KVR) sees the idea a little more critically.

As the approving authority, it keeps an eye on the safety and organization of the event.

KVR spokesman Tobias Kapfelsberger gave a few examples.

Rescue and escape routes must be clarified in cooperation with the police and fire brigade, and the arrival and departure of visitors must be planned.

Not to mention the very event that takes place on the Theresienwiese on New Year's Eve.

The Winter Tollwood.

Its organizers have already spoken out about the plans.

Especially since the preparation time, which is only around four to five months, is “definitely tight”, says Kapfelsberger.

The organizer Leutgeb Entertainment Group was initially unable to comment on this.
