The representative of the regional administration in the Zaporozhye region, Vladimir Rogov, expected wide popular participation in the referendum on the region's accession to Russia, pointing out that preparations are continuing in this regard.
"The voter turnout will be very high as people will decide their future and have a clear view of the risks and threats posed by Ukraine," Rogov told TASS.
Rogov explained that the regional authorities in Zaporozhye are currently working on issues related to the transparency of the upcoming referendum and the security of its participants, describing the referendum as "an event that Zaporozhye has been waiting for for many years."
The head of the Zaporozhye region, Yevgeny Palitsky, announced his signing of a decree on preparations for the referendum, during the forum of the region's social movement "We are with Russia", which was held yesterday in the city of Melitopol, in the presence of more than 700 delegates from all over the region.
