This 10-year-old girl shudders because of her voice so similar to that of Selena Quintanilla

María Paula Mazón has even impressed the family of the famous Texan singer with her talent. "She makes me cry," said Selena's widower upon hearing her.


The girl walks up on stage, turns her back to the audience, addresses the hosts of the talent show in Las Vegas, Nevada, with a microphone in her hand, and whispers something in the ear of one of them.

Then, she turns and her portentous voice echoes with one of the hits of the Texan singer Selena Quintanilla.

, the iconic 1992 song by the queen of tex-mex, has been viewed more than 5 million times in the last month, after it was shared on the internet. TikTok social network.

"It makes me cry," says one of the presenters, Chris Perez, Quintanilla's widower and guitarist for his group in the '90s

. "It's good to see someone like her, who will be the next Selena in so many ways," he

added.

Mazón says that he has been singing since he was 2 years old and that his mother, who also sings, has been his teacher.

"She teaches me, but I do everything else,"

she said in a telephone interview with Noticias Telemundo's Hoy Día program in July.

Although he has been singing for many years, his love for Selena is more recent.

Her interest was piqued after a Selena-themed party for her 9th birthday thrown by her father, Joe Rivera.

For Rivera, seeing his daughter sing Selena's hits with such talent overwhelms him with a feeling that is difficult to describe, something he shares with her.

says she feels connected to Selena, she says she has a feeling she can't describe."

Since he went viral on social networks for his way of singing so similar to that of the Mexican-American artist he admires so much, Mazón has had the opportunity to sing for the composer and producer AB Quintanilla, Selena's brother.

"I was a little nervous, excited. All my emotions were overwhelmed," Mazón assured in an interview with the Good Morning America program when talking about his meeting with the famous artist.

Mazón, who is currently in fifth grade in elementary school, said he hopes his music and voice will one day be known around the world, he told the outlet.

His next public appearance will be on November 26 during the Tejano Music Awards in San Antonio, Texas.
