Prices are not only rising in Germany.
The war in Ukraine has had an impact on the world economy.
Some holiday destinations are therefore particularly expensive.
At the latest when shopping, everyone notices: Prices are rising.
Inflation, which is a direct result of the war in Ukraine, mainly due to the energy crisis, is causing prices to soar.
Germany recorded an increase in the general price level of 8.2 percent in June 2022 compared to the same month last year.
Household energy prices in Germany rose by 39.3% compared to June 2021.
The average figures in the EU are slightly higher than in Germany: the price increase according to the Harmonized Index of Consumer Prices (HICP) was +9.6% in June 2022 in the Union, energy costs rose by 41.8%.
Prices are not only rising in Germany - the price level, for example for alcohol, has also risen on holiday.

Low Rise: Holidays in Iceland, Norway and Switzerland
And what about the three EFTA countries Iceland, Norway and Switzerland?
According to the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis), prices in countries that are expensive anyway are rising relatively little.
The price increase was +7.0% in Norway, +5.4% in Iceland and +3.2% in Switzerland.
The lower increase compared to the EU may be due to the high basic costs.
In May 2022, the price level in Switzerland was 53 percent higher than in Germany.
For this purpose, the purchasing power of private households is compared, according to Destatis.
