Truck crashes into car in tunnel – 46-year-old and passenger trapped in car

In an accident in the Aubinger Tunnel in Munich, two women were trapped in their car.

A truck had previously hit the car.

Germering/Munich

- A 46-year-old woman from Germering and her passenger (21) were trapped in their car in a rear-end collision.

The accident happened around 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

The woman drove her car on the A 99 motorway in the direction of Lindau.

At the end of the Aubinger Tunnel, she had to slow down due to traffic.

A 43-year-old Landsberger, who was behind the car with his truck, drove into the car at a not inconsiderable speed, according to the police.

The car was badly deformed in the accident and the two occupants were trapped in the car.

In order to be able to remove parts of the vehicles involved in the accident from the roadway, the tunnel in the direction of Lindau had to be temporarily closed completely.

Another complete lockdown took place a little later, as the two car occupants had to be freed with the help of the Munich fire department.

Both women were taken to a hospital as a precaution.

The car was a total write-off.

The vehicle had to be towed from the scene of the accident.

The truck, which was still drivable, was damaged in the front area.

According to the police, the total damage was around 20,000 euros.

The closures at the Aubinger Tunnel also had a short-term effect on the Allacher Tunnel.

Due to the backlog, block handling was carried out at the Allach Tunnel.

From around 4:20 p.m., traffic was able to flow again without disruption.
