Today, China renewed the orange alert for high temperatures, with the continuation of severe heat waves in many areas of the country.
And Xinhua quoted the China Meteorological Center as saying today that temperatures in parts of Shaanxi, Hubei, Chongqing, Jiangsu and Xinjiang may exceed 40 degrees Celsius, calling on residents of these areas to avoid outdoor activities during periods of high temperatures.
In China, there is a bad weather warning system consisting of four colour-coded levels, with red being the most intense, followed by orange, yellow and blue.
