In the search for alternative energy sources, the municipality of Taufkirchen is also considering allowing the construction of wind turbines.

Taufkirchen

- Taufkirchen wants to take precautions, especially since there is a risk that the municipalities will lose their planning sovereignty in the medium term due to the current developments and the new regulations passed by the federal government for the expansion of wind energy.

An initial analysis by the administration, led by climate protection manager Patricia Friedlmeier, has shown that although the wind speed is not particularly high, it is at least of such a magnitude that a profitability analysis should be commissioned.

In public and non-public sessions, the municipal council has now passed several resolutions to advance the investigations and get the citizens on board.

Even opponents convince

So it was decided that if wind turbines were to be built locally, the citizens would be involved in the project.

Hans Zäuner, who initiated a wind turbine in Hamberg (Ebersberg district) as a citizens' energy plant, had reported to the local councilors how much effort it had cost to build the wind turbine, even against the resistance of some citizens, that the shareholders were very satisfied with the performance of the plant satisfied and meanwhile even opponents are convinced of the usefulness.

Zäuner, or the Zäuner & Stinauer GbR, should now continue to work as a project developer with the community and drive forward the profitability test.

This was decided in a non-public session.

In order to save costs for an own wind measurement, one wants to buy the wind measurement results from the ARGE Hofoldinger Forst.

This decision was also made behind closed doors.

Possible area west of the A8

The potential analysis carried out by the municipal administration showed that an area in the forest west of the A8, south of the A995, could be considered as a location.

Three wind turbines could be worthwhile there.

The Enercon E 160 turbine type with an annual yield at 5.3 m/s wind of around 10,000 MWh per year and wind turbine was assumed.

According to the administration, a total yield of 30,000 MWh per year would be possible here.

That corresponds to the electricity consumption of around 8,500 households and a CO2 saving of 23,000 tons per year.
