Gilching - Seven young people from Cecina came with their German teacher Elena Kosi to the international youth center at the youth camp in Possenhofen.

For 20 years, young people from Europe and all over the world have been meeting there every two years to celebrate a colorful festival of togetherness and tolerance.

The Cecina association invited the Italian group from the twin town of Cecina to get to know their twin town of Gilching for a day.

The program included swing golf in the Angerhof, lunch in a beer garden and a visit to the Arnoldus bell from the 12th century in the St. Vitus church.

Then the town hall and the market place of Gilching were visited.

Unfortunately, the sculpture on the market square could not be viewed as it is still being repaired.

As a gift, the young people and their teacher received at least one picture of the sculpture from Luise Selmeier, which is intended to commemorate the partnership between the two cities and the friendly coexistence of the peoples.

The day ended with a visit to an ice cream parlor in Gilching and Elena Kosi and the young people from Cecina thanked Luise Selmeier and Rainer Hackstein for the eventful day in Gilching.
