US Representative Scott Berry, who is close to former President Donald Trump, announced that the FBI tracked him while he was traveling and confiscated his phone, in an action that comes one day after a raid on Trump's residence in Florida.
"While he was traveling with his family, three FBI agents approached him and handed him a warrant and asked him to hand over his mobile phone," US Representative Perry said in a statement, according to Fox News.
Trump announced yesterday that FBI agents raided his residence in the Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida.
The FBI declined to comment on whether a search was being conducted or the purpose of the raid, but several US media outlets quoted
Sources close to the file said that the search was carried out with the permission of the court and is related to a possible mishandling of confidential documents that were transferred to the Mar-a-Lago resort.
