The classic car meeting on the Hohen Peißenberg attracted numerous car owners and interested parties.

Among other things, the “most beautiful BMW” was on display.

Hohenpeissenberg

– Alfred Schachtner is a vintage car officer at the MSC Bayerischer Rigi – and that is no coincidence.

He has been in the scene for 30 years and is well connected.

At the classic car meeting on the Hohen Peißenberg, Schachtner was in his element.

Hardly a minute went by in which he wasn't greeted by someone for small talk: "I know almost everyone here," said Schachtner with a smile, while his gaze roamed contentedly and proudly over the jam-packed area at the lower mountain car park.

By lunchtime, the hard-working MSC helpers had already handed out 650 registration cards to the participants of the classic car meeting.

"We'll probably get to 750 by the afternoon," Schachtner speculated.

So the response was tremendous.

The vintage car owners were dying to present their gems.

And the cloudy, but dry weather provided the ideal conditions: “We're really dizzy.

If it rained, we might only have 20 percent of the participants.

That would be a tragedy,” said Schachtner: “Wetness is poison for vintage cars.”

Right in the middle: the "most beautiful BMW"

Visitors were offered a wide range of cars, motorcycles and bulldogs.

The MSC announced the BMW E 30 as a "special" this year - and it struck a chord.

The “most beautiful BMW”, as die-hard fans claim, was steered towards the mountain parking lot in droves and in all variations and colours.

Big rush: By noon, 650 registration cards had already been issued.

Tommy Preikschas from the neighboring district of Landsberg also came to the classic car meeting with his E 30.

He met up with his colleagues from the brand in Hohenpeissenberg and then drove up the mountain together in a parade.

What fascinates preikschas on the E 30 so much?

"He's a timeless classic." And for him, he also has a very personal story.

His white E 30 used to belong to a friend who later died in a motorcycle accident.

Preikschas took over the car and converted it the way the friend had planned.

He is well connected in the "BMW E 30" community.

Contacts are particularly important when procuring spare parts, as this is becoming increasingly difficult.

"The prices for the cars are only going up," reports Preikschas.

Another highlight: a Peugeot 250 Turbo 16

One of the big "highlights" that could be admired at the classic car meeting was the Peugeot 205 Turbo 16. The rally racing car was transported on a trailer from Lermoos.

"The car has come a long way," said owner Erich Müller.

The Peugeot has already been chauffeured by several German rally champions and has also taken part in the Misano Legend Rally.

The guest from Tyrol liked the MSC classic car meeting: "It's really nice here."

A small downer for the MSC: The "Monte Rigi Classic", which was actually planned for September as a regularity ride on the Hohen Peißenberg, will not take place this year at least.

The framework conditions had already been defined by the authorities, but the MSC still has to do some convincing at community level.

In any case, the “Monte Rigi Classic”, the club officials asserted, is still on the agenda.
