Bar-Lev on his relegation to the bottom of the job list: "The voter has spoken, let's move forward"

The Minister of Internal Security, who was elected to the 9th place on the job list, expressed his disappointment but clarified: "What stands before my eyes is the good of the State of Israel, there are more tasks to realize and plans to advance."

He also said, "I am not folding the political-security flag in the Labor Party, but continue to carry it proudly"

Internal Security Minister Amr Bar-Lev, who was relegated from second to ninth place in the primaries for the job list, clarified today (Wednesday) that he continues in his position as minister.

"We are moving forward, there are more tasks to accomplish and plans to promote in the office," he said, "I am here to continue to steer this important endeavor."

He added, "In the last year there have been quite a few achievements, and I have no doubt that in the coming months this trend will continue, the fruits of which we can already see now, and will see even more clearly in the future."

Bar-Lev expressed his disappointment with the results, but said that "the voter in the Labor Party had his say (...) I had, in my adult life, moments of satisfaction alongside moments of disappointment, but what always stands before my eyes is the good of the State of Israel."

The minister pledged, "I am not folding the political-security flag in the Labor Party, but continue to carry it with pride."

Last night, after receiving the results, Alternate Prime Minister Naftali Bennett tweeted on Twitter to strengthen Bar-Lev and thank him for "not an easy year in which he dedicated himself to the fight against crime and the murder of innocents, to the successful corona waves without closures, to the fight against the wave of terrorist attacks and to strengthening the Israeli police, The people who watch over us all."

He added, "In every event, big or small, Amr always arrived on the ground, took responsibility and acted in a professional manner for the citizens of Israel."

Bennett continued, "Omar, although our opinions differ, but you stood up to the task that defined our government - to look above the base, put aside the ego and act solely for the sake of the citizens of Israel, their safety and well-being. I will always appreciate you for that."

Bar-Lev shared Bennett's tweet and thanked him.
