Cabinet: Granting Syrian grain 50 billion pounds to complete financing the purchase of wheat

The Prime Minister, Engineer Hussein Arnous, approved the recommendation of the Economic Committee, which included granting the Ministry of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection - the Syrian Grain Corporation a financial loan of 50 billion Syrian pounds to complete the financing of the purchase of the wheat season for 2022 and the payment of dues to farmers.

The marketed quantities of wheat from farmers until the second of this month amounted to 512,801 tons, worth 1,025 billion pounds, while the total approved loans amounted to 1000 billion pounds to pay the price of the received wheat, as the branches of the Syrian Grain Corporation continue to pay the value of the previously marketed wheat.

The government has taken a set of measures to facilitate the receipt of the wheat season from farmers with the aim of enhancing the strategic stock of wheat and securing the daily need of citizens for bread.

Since the beginning of the cultivation of the current season, agricultural production requirements have been provided (fuel, fertilizer, seed) within the available capabilities in light of the unjust economic siege that stands in the way of importing many materials and supplies necessary for the agricultural production process, foremost of which is fertilizer.. With the start of marketing Wheat All the requirements for receiving the crop were secured from storage, laboratory and technical equipment, and the necessary financial credits. All marketed quantities were received by farmers, regardless of the percentage of crimes and impurities in them, as the government bore all the expenses of sifting.

Syria annually needs about 2.5 million tons of wheat to cover the local need, and the bulk of it is secured from abroad, which costs the state treasury a lot of foreign exchange. Governmental production and irrigation requirements, while giving them remunerative prices for each kilogram that is marketed to government centers, in order to secure the receipt of the largest amount of wheat in a way that secures an important part of the local need and reduces the import bill.

It is noteworthy that large areas of agricultural land in the north of the country that are grown with wheat are being stolen by the American occupation, which is plundering the national wealth of oil, wheat and others.
