A volley of long-range missiles by the Ukrainian army managed to hit a Russian transport unit and disable the Treaty Bridge near the town of Nova Khakhovka • The successful attack comes less than a day after the bombing of the Russian Air Force base in the Crimea

Today (Wednesday) the Ukrainian army succeeded in hitting a Russian force stationed near a key bridge in the south of the country, destroying several trucks and armored vehicles and significantly damaging the bridge, which is one of the only routes left by Russia across the Dnieper River in the south of the country.

The dam bridge near the town of Nova Khagovka was hit by several missiles launched from the territory controlled by Ukraine, media in Kyiv discovered.

A large Russian force that was on the bridge, including transport and security units, was severely damaged and almost all of its vehicles were destroyed in the bombing.

The Russian army did not report any casualties, but due to the suddenness of the missile attack, which took place at night, it is likely that at least some of the soldiers who were stationed there were injured.

Videos posted on social media showed severe damage to the bridge's infrastructure, which apparently remained passable to vehicles, but not to heavy and armored trucks.

In addition, at least eight vehicles can be seen that were completely destroyed by the missile attack.

This is the fifth attack in a month on one of the key bridges on the Dnieper River in the Kherson sector in southern Ukraine.

Experts believe that the purpose of the attacks is to undermine Russian control of the region north of the Dnieper and make it difficult for it to deliver ammunition and supplies to the frontline forces.

Earlier today, the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense announced that nine aircraft belonging to the Russian Navy were destroyed in an attack on the Russian Air Force base in Saki, Crimea.

According to reports in the country's media, six long-range rockets of the Ukrainian army hit the base, which is used by the 43rd Aviation Division of the Russian Navy.

The base was used by the Russian army for a series of airstrikes on the territory of Ukraine during the Russian invasion of the country.

Surfers on social networks distributed photos and videos of the incident, which indicate damage to ammunition depots and fuel facilities.

Up to this time, there has been no official report from the Russian authorities about the attack and no casualties are known.
